Recently, the final of the First Traditional Culture Communication Competition was held in Chengdu campus. It was supported by the International College and organized by the Student International Exchange Center. The communication competition combined online voting and offline scoring, divided into two stages: the preliminary contest and the final. 10 international students entered the final and made impromptu calligraphy and painting on the spot.

Ghulam Raza Mustafa, a Pakistani doctoral student who won the first prize in the traditional Chinese painting group,expresses that he would like to thank his instructor of theCalligraphy and Painting Association for her patient guidance in enabling him to create a Chinese painting with artistic conception in a short period of time. Rabia Mazhar, a Pakistani student who won the second place, said she loved Chinese culture very much and she had been exposed to Chinese calligraphy and traditional Chinese painting before she came to China. Gabonese student Indy-lee, Anderson Ngoye Tonda said that he learned a lot of calligraphy skills through this competition and he was very honored to win the first place in the Calligraphy group. He also called on international students to actively participate in various activities organized by the university to experience the charm of Chinese traditional culture while completing their studies.
The students of the Calligraphy and Painting Association of SAU explained the basic techniques of Chinese painting and calligraphy to international students to help them understand Chinese traditional culture. This competition enriches the campus cultural life of Chinese and international students.It has a positive impact on international students to get close to Chinese culture and spread Chinese stories.
