The 4th International Culture and Art Festival Came to A Successful Conclusion

On May 27, the 4th International Culture and Art Festival ended successfully on Chengdu campus.International students from 13 countries on three continents have brought wonderful exotic cultural displays to the teachers and students.

 

With the theme of "Love SAU, Embrace the Games, See you in Chengdu", this International Cultural and Art Festival presents sports, singing and dancing performances and delicacies with unique national characteristics to students through Garden Party and stage performances. In Nepal's exhibition area, the country's traditional sports "Dandi-Biyo" has attracted a large number of Chinese students to watch and experience. In this sport, two 10-15cm wooden sticks with pointed tips are placed on the ground, which is called“Gaer”. During the competition, hit with one stick to make the other one up, and then vigorously hit the“Gaer”in the air. The students who participated in the experience said it was very interesting.



Pakistan's fried pancakes, Kenya's ginger milk tea, Nepal's fried noodles, Ghana's sausage rolls and other delicacies attracted many students to queue up to taste.Chinese and foreign traditional cultural experience activities such as Haina hand-painting in Pakistan, African drum teaching and Chinese calligraphy are also welcomed by the students.



In the stage and performance area, the atmosphere was even more enthusiastic. In the opening show, a song and dance performance "Guineans Show" brought by Guinean students and Chinese students attracted a lot of applause. The Hanfu Society brought an elegant and graceful dance performance of "Song of Eternal Sorrow·Garments of theGlory", which made the international students feel the ancient beauty of Chinese traditional costumes. Later, the traditional dance show “District Wise Culture Songs” from Pakistan, Nepal traditional song “Nepso” and Ghanaian Hip-hop dance show were staged one after another. Finally, "Chinese and Foreign songs" brought by African students pushed the atmosphere of the scene to the best part. The Chinese songs "Chengdu" and "Friends" played and sung by the guitar won cheers and applause from the audience.


 

This event is sponsored by the International College and hosted by the Student International Exchange Center, which not only provides a platform for international students to show their own characteristics, but also builds a bridge for Chinese and foreign students to enhance cultural exchanges and mutual understanding. It will help to create a harmonious and inclusive atmosphere on campus.
