On February 10, 2023, Science and Technology Department of Sichuan Province commended and awarded the Advanced Organizations of Science andTechnology Cooperation in 2022 at the Conference of the Provincial International Science and Technology Cooperation Base.The Rice Demonstration Base for InternationalScience and Technology Cooperation of our university was awarded this honor, for it has made every effort to overcome the impact of COVID-19, and successfully completed the annual research tasks of various international scientific and technological cooperation projects, as well as made important progress in the cooperation with the Ministry of Agriculture, Animal Husbandry and Irrigation of Myanmar.

     The Rice Demonstration Base for International Science and Technology Cooperation of our university is one of the first authorized provincial cooperation bases in Sichuan Province. Relying on the Rice Research Institute of Sichuan Agricultural University and under the leadership of Professor Zhu Jianqing, the head of the base, the base has responded to the China’s vision of "going global" and "Belt and Road Initiative" construction. Over the years, with international scientific research projects as the bridge, extensive cooperation networks have been established with countries along the Belt and Road Initiative routes, such as Russia, Laos, Bangladesh, Pakistan, Myanmar and so on. International scientific research cooperation has been carried out in the fields of germplasm resources innovation, genetic breeding and cultivation physiology of rice. The overseas market of hybrid rice has been expanded, a large number of hybrid rice scientific and technological talents have been trained, and outstanding scientific research achievements have been achieved.
